Does anyone know how I can get this thing about 2 inches wider, 1" on each tire? I am having problems with my lower 3ph links rubbing on my tires. I have tried adjusting the arms but the links still rub on one side when I am mowing on an incline. Thanks Big Ed

the answer to your question is as follows. Through away the sway controls and go to the local Tractor supply store. Buy some chain and two clevis hooks for each side. The chain is alot more readily adjustable and will not bend like CC controls. ....

I'm guessing the problem is when mowing on side-hills and that the tractor has turf tires. The rubbing probably occurs on the downhill tire. A solution would be to tighten up the sway control, and that would be sway-chains on most tractors. It sounds like Steven knows the problem and replacement with chains might work better.
On the other hand, if there's work done on significant side-hills, Peters comments about widening the wheels might be a good thing to do. A wider stance improves stability when on side-hills, and curing tire rubbing might be considered just an incidental result. I'd probably consider doing both.
Regarding wheel widening: The rims on some tractors are adjustable on the wheels. The hubs may adjustable on axles but mostly on old farm tractors. Wheels can be reversed to increase the stance provided that both sides of the wheel will mount onto the hub. I think that rims on a few wheels are mounted symmetrically so reversing them wouldn't make any difference.
If the wheels are reversed it's good to keep in mind that just turning one around and keeping it on the same side reverses the tread direction. Ag tires are strongly directional and less forward traction would result. Most turf tires are barely directional if at all. Exchanging the left and right wheels increases the stance and keeps the tread direction the same.

I did see someone that made a widening kit that mounted between the rums and hub, got 1" wider on each side but it was almost $500!
Here's what I did:
Get some 7/8" washers, usually at a big truck repair shop and are about 1/8" thick. I bought 10 of them for cheap. After you get each of your lower arms on the implement, slide on as many washers as you can, then put your lynch pins in, then tighten down on the spreaders, get them good and tight.
Works awesome for me, got me about .5" clearance for each tire.

Pretty good solution and it is probably easier to limit how far the link arms can spread than widening the tires. Along the same lines, some BX owners (with a narrow hitch) who have implements with detachable link pins install them reversed so they're on the other side of the mount and point inward. The interest here is mounting a wide implement on a narrow hitch, but it would also have the effect of reducing the link arm spread.
Of course, widening the tires may be desirable for adding stability if the slopes are pretty steep.

I did think about reversing the pins, which would gain a couple inches on each side. It just looks a little unstable with the 5' bush hog. On 4' implements I wouldn't hissitate. I may give it a try this spring, will post what I find.

i had the same problem when i first got my 7205 with r4 tires had dealer swich me to r4 instead of the turf tires . dealer fixed reversed rims no proiblems now tractor five years old now great macine no other problems ....

I got chains for my tractor this past winter and I was back to the rubbing problem. Turns out that the tires are reversible on the 7205. I flipped then (and swapped sides because the R4's are directional) and it got me another 2" of clearance on each side!
